UltraStrip M3500
Overview
The NREC designed, built and tested the centerpiece of the
semi-automated paint removal system that now is in everyday
use and available for commercial sale by UltraStrip Systems,
Inc.
UltraStrip’s M3500 is the most
technologically advanced solution in the world for sweeping
and removal of coatings on ships’ hulls and other surfaces.
Controlled with a wireless joystick and using patented air
gap magnets, it glides effortlessly at speeds up to 51 cm/sec
(20 in/sec) along the sides and underneath ships’ hulls
while delivering 55,000 psi water to remove paint without
marring surfaces.
The UltraStrip system, which includes
a powerful vacuum and patented, EPA-approved filtration system,
lowers paint stripping and sweeping costs, shortens dry dock
stays, and has received widespread recognition for technical
innovation (read the Fortune
500 article) and protecting the environment (UltraStrip
received the Seatrade Award for "Countering Marine and
Atmospheric Pollution” from Princess Anne.)
