Located at the heart of Pittsburgh's Robotics Row, our network of expertise brings innovation to applied robotics in the real world.

NREC also leads in educational outreach through the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy, a research, development, and outreach program which creates robotics curricula and software, offers professional development certification courses, and conducts year-round educator training.

“[NREC employees] have spent so much time out there on the deck, talking to the employees, looking at all the systems, ...it’s been a super cooperation effort. And I could not have been any more pleased. We are blessed to have them involved in this project.”

— Barry Sullivan, Mat Sinking Unit Chief, US Army Corps of Engineers

Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy teacher training

Our classroom was located in the National Robotics Engineering Center and we were surrounded by real world projects and robotics innovation. I’d recommend CMRA classes to any STEM teacher considering implementing a robotics program.”
